Blog Post #1 Development Stage
Currently, have spoken with my instructor to present ideas on where
I will be completing my practicum. The current challenge is deciding whether to
complete my internship at my place of work or go outside the work area to
complete my professional internship. In speaking with the instructor, provided
excellent advice to try to finish my internship within my department. Notably,
presented with the opportunity to work with the fingerprint examiner who is
teaching fingerprints this year at a university in Montgomery, AL. In showing
the course of action needed to complete my practicum application, the examiner
came up with the idea of assisting her with creating a presentation that can be
displayed in her class when she teaches about the A.F.I.X database. The
teacher wants a virtual video produced by the fingerprint office and embed
various snapshots of the fingerprint process. She needs a visual to go
along with her discussion related to the real world of fingerprints. I have
spent over approximately 2 hours in completing this task. Now, I have learned
to set up meetings with potential professionals in their respective fields for
guidance and support. Learned to collaborate with the instructor and find out
how to address the needs of the requester. Lastly, learned how to present
previous professional work portfolios to showcase how the presentation can be
developed with various web 2.0 tools.
